About Rabbits
The rabbit lives in many areas around the world. Rabbits live in groups in underground burrows. A group of burrows is called a warren. You will find wild rabbits in meadows, woods, forests, thickets, and grasslands. They also inhabit deserts and wetlands.

A female rabbit is called a doe and a male rabbit is called a buck.

Rabbits are lovely animals, great pets for dedicated owners. Rabbits are sociable creatures, and enjoy the company of other rabbits, and generally prefer to live in pairs. They also love human company and can become very friendly if given the love and care they deserve; some rabbits need a bit more paitence than others.

Rabbits need a lot of space, a childrens playhouse would make a great home for a couple of rabbits. Rabbits are costly pets if cared for correctly. The average costs of neutering is £70 for a female and £50 for male. They also require vaccinations every year against Myxomatosis which needs to be done every 6 months if the rabbit is to be housed outside, its required yearly if housed inside. Viral Haemorrhagic disease (VHD) also needs to be vaccinated against. (See illnesses). These both cost upwards of £14 each.
Rabbits also need to be wormed twice a year.
