Sponsorship
Sponsoring an animal can make the world of differnce to that animal and the rescue. The money received for sponsorship will help to pay for food, bedding, operations, vet bills and vaccinations. You will receive a lovely picture of your sponser "child" aswell as updates of their progress. This does take a lot of time though so please be paitent.

Sponsoring an animal can be a great gift to a loved one. Maybe you are unable to offer an animal a loving home because of personal reasons/allergies. Sponsorship is the perfect answer.

Sponsorship could be as much or as little as you wish, you could donate once a year or once a month.

Please get in contact with your details and the name of the animal(s) you wish to sponsor. We can then discuss the sponsoring process.

Our sponsor animals:
Storm
She came to us very scared and very wild. Storm would attack anything that moved, she would bite and claw at everything and everyone. She has come a long way since she has been here. She is now calmer than when she came but we are unable to rehome her safely as she can still give a nasty nip.
Hazel
Hazel has a head tilt and has a very serious allergy to readigrass. She is currently the head of the herd of girls.
Henry
Henrys sponsors: Natalie

Henry was our first "real" Bunny rescue. He was abandoned by his owners in a cold hutch with no food, hay or drinkable water. His water bottle was thick with algea. His teeth had grown around his mouth in such a way that he couldn't eat or drink. He was so ill when we collected him. For a few months afterwards he would have nightmares and was so scared of human contact. We can only imagine what he has been through. We believe he was dropped onto his face as a baby. He is coming along so well now, but unfortunatly needs an operation to remove his teeth as trimming them is just becoming too painful for him.

UPDATE - Henry has now had his operation and had his teeth removed. He is very unsure of new people and we feel it wouldn't be fair to him to have to live back in a cage with "strangers" peering in on him. Here at PPAR he has free range of the upstairs of our home where he feels safe and secure as he has grown to trust us.
Penguin and Polar
A bonded pair of Netherland Dwarf Rabbits. Penguin has no teeth and is unable to keep himself clean, so will need to remain here as in the summer months Penguin will be very susceptible to fly strike.

Velvet
She is a lovely bun with a big personality, but she does have several issues, which unfortunatly will reduce her chances of finding a forever home. The issues she has range from cage aggression (slowly getting better) to blood loss issues. She also has extremly sore feet, which means she needs soft bedding. We have tried, carpet, fleece and towels, but she would get caught up on these and would run frantically around her cage and into the sides. We have found that the very fine woodshavings from Wilko is the best bedding for her. It's so much softer than any other bedding we have tried and doesn't irritate her extremly sore feet. She is hybiscrubed twice daily, but unfortunatly she sometimes bleeds so we have to give her a few days break before starting again. She and we obviously do not like doing this but as it has made a differnce to the state of her feet we will continue. Hopefully with this new found soft bedding there will be less irritation and she can continue to live the happy life she does now. Unfortunatly Velvets claws cannot be cut short as they bleed a lot when cut, so we are very very slowly trimming them back by cutting the tips off everyday in the hope the quick will go all the way back so she can have shorter nails.

Watson and Holmes
Watson and Holmes came to us for the first time in January 2010, they were adopted by a young family in March but unfortunatly came back to us in July through no fault of their own. As the boys are 6 years old now it is unlikly that they will be adopted again due to their age. So although the boys are very healthy and tame they will probably live out their last years here with us at the rescue. However if your family did want to adopt them we will of course be delighted to hear from you. If you would like to sponser Watson and Holmes please let us know by using the email address at the bottom of this page.
Every time you place an ad on Preloved via this link you help to raise money towards the care of the rescue animals.
